MONA

Helloooo again!

For anyone who doesn't know, MONA is the Museum of Old and New Art. It's located in Hobart, Tasmania and is quite controversial because of some of it's exhibitions. Personally, I really enjoyed it but I'd have to agree that it's, uh, kinda weird.

The weirdest part was probably the "poop machine", which looks like this (not my picture):

I'm not entirely sure about how it works, all I know is that it uses, um, feces. According to my sister (I had a cold so couldn't smell anything), it smells really bad.

There was one series of watercolour paintings that I thought were really quite pretty... until I looked a bit closer and realised that they all included, and were kinda based on, well, areas if you know what I mean.

But apart from all that, which caused quite a few giggles from all of us, it was really interesting and I'd definitely reccomend going.

Before I get to the core of this post I'll show you a few of the photos that I took of some of the exhibitions.

This room was filled with white books of all different sizes, which I found pretty cool.

This one was really funny, it had little TV's with a different person on each one and they were all singing together and dancing, really getting into it.

I love this Buddha, it was so peaceful, I guess.

Shevirath ha Kelim means Breaking of the Vessels. I loved this exhibition, so minimilistic.

This one was really cool, it was kind of like a waterfall and would send down water words, for lack of a better explanation.

There were a lot of other exhibitions, but the photos that I took of them weren't very good, so decided to leave them out.

Anyway, onto my absolute favourite exhibition, which I also only got crappy photos of.

Basically, it was a huge room with maybe 50-75 old TV's and second-hand chairs. On each TV their was a different person, but all of them were from Kuba. They told their stories about events that have happened in their lives, what they loved and problems that they face. I found it really amazing how you didn't even know their name and you had never met them and probably never will but you got to hear their stories. It was such a good idea and ugh I just love it so much!

This is a crappy photo of the room.

I 100% reccomend going and checking it out if you're in Tasmania.

Here are few other pics from the day.

I am in loooove with my new fluffy coat from nunui, which you can buy here: http://www.surfstitch.com/product/nunui-bliss-jacket-winter-white

I love this photo for some reason, so much depth and layers.

There was so many animals running around at MONA, including peacocks!

And a rainbow! Ah it's so pretty!

I have a few exciting things coming up, including a whole new look for my blog! It should hopefully be ready in 2 or 3 weeks, basically whenever I have the time!

Love Mads xx
