Creativity has always been something that I've struggled with. I'd look at other people and see how quickly they come up with original ideas and I'd think "I can't do that, I'm not creative enough". I think half the problem was the fact that I blocked out the "creative" part of my mind by being so ignorant to the world around me. I think that we can get so caught up in our own lives and we just forget to look up and appreciate all the beautiful things around us.
Recently, I've been taking a couple of minutes out of my day to look outside while I'm in the car, on the bus or walking home, basically whenever I can. I've been amazed at all the small things that I see, that I've never noticed before. It really reminds you shouldn't take nature for granted, it really is amazing.
Not only have these couple of minutes made me appreciate my hometown more, but they have "unblocked" the creative part of my mind and I have been so surprised at the amount of ideas that have just popped into my head. I have so many ideas for photo series that I will hopefully be able to shoot very soon, so look out for that!
All in all, what I'm saying is look up! Appreciate the good things and be inspired by them!
